Featured Project: Midtown Square Apartments, 23rd & Union – Central District, Seattle
Type of Project: Commercial retail space with mixed income apartments

The artwork printed on the Midtown Square building panels feature two artists local to Seattle’s historic Central District.

Midtown Square is located in the heart of Seattle’s historic Central District at 23rd & East Union with 432 mixed income apartments, and 28,000 square feet of commercial retail space designated for local, minority-owned businesses. Approximately 30% of the apartment homes are qualified as “affordable” housing. Also included is one of the largest privately run public arts projects in the PNW region, featuring a range of relevant and diverse local artists unique to the Central Area community.

Evergreen is pleased (along with sister print shop United print. signs. graphics.) to have been awarded both the exterior building artwork package and the exterior and interior sign packages for this beautiful and vital new addition to the Seattle landscape.

Artwork can be seen lining the busy Central District intersection at 23rd & Union, a diverse and relevant homage to the community.

The NW Building Exterior features the vibrant artwork of Barry Johnson (@barryjohnson.co), a multi-media artist know for playing with varying imagery and patterns. Barry has graciously shared drone footage of the completed exterior panels below.

Exterior panels were digitally printed and coated for added protection before installation onsite. Drone footage by Barry Johnson.

The NE Building Exterior features the artwork of Adam Jabari Jefferson (@adamjabari), a multi-level series of photographic images paying homage to the rich heritage of the community.
